THE EVOLUTION OF PROFESSIONAL OFFICE MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE
MICROAREA, since its foundation, has specialised in the development of management software for companies and professionals. Our main area of development has been oriented, since our beginnings, to the management of payroll, accounting, invoicing and taxes.
We pioneered the development of such applications for Windows 1/2/3.X (16-bit). Later, with Windows 95, we launched our 32-bit product range that would evolve into .Net technology.
All these processes and changes have been completely transparent to the user, who has been automatically updated without noticing changes or undergoing cumbersome installations.
OUR BEGINNINGS IN THE LEGAL SECTOR: GESTIÓ ICAB
In mid-2004, we were asked by the Barcelona Law Society to develop a file management application with two clear objectives, in the words of the Head of the IT Department and the Deputy for New Technologies at ICAB:
"To develop a product that solved the shortcomings of existing applications and that was specifically designed by and for lawyers, while being integrated with LexNet Justice".
More than 9,000 lawyers from the Barcelona Law Society became users of a programme that integrated the latest technology with a team of 34 ICAB lawyers and which, after years of modifications and improvements, managed to cover the needs of any office, regardless of its size.
THE TRANSITION TO THE FIRST DIVISION
The Madrid Law Society signed a collaboration agreement with the ICAB and MICROAREA, which resulted in more than five years of development, integrating the software with the Law Society`s proprietary applications, such as the Public Defender`s Office, prison passes, collection management and the attempt to make up for the lack of a communications system with the Ministry of Justice.
More than 36,000 new users joined our Office Management application and contributed to create the perfect application.
